The Beauty
of the Belvedere Lagoon
The best kept secret in Belvedere
The Belvedere Lagoon is owned and maintained by the BLPOA.
Membership in the BLPOA is open to all homeowners with property
fronting on the lagoon. Use of the lagoon is restricted to members
of the BLPOA, their tenants and guests, and to members of the
BSS during its functions. The lagoon covers approximately 66
acres, at an average depth of 4-6 feet, and is surrounded by
261 lots comprised of 232 private residences, 28 duplexes and
the BLPOA boatyard. There is no public access to the lagoon and
there is no boat access between the lagoon and the bay.
Lagoon fun
Approved uses of the lagoon include swimming, manually-powered
craft (such as canoes, paddleboats, rowboats) and sailboats (mono-hulls
up to 14 feet in length). Members of the BLPOA are encouraged
to join the BSS, which sponsors organized sailboat races on the
lagoon for Sunfish, Laser, and Lido 14 sailboats, as well as
social events for BSS members. BSS and BLPOA members also have
use of the BLPOA's small boat dry storage facility (for an additional
fee) at 50 Lagoon Road. BSS membership is open to all residents
of Belvedere. For more information about joining the BSS, please
call Gaby Isaacson at 435-4887.
Helping preserve the Lagoon
The BLPOA is a private non-profit corporation, not a homeowner's
association, whose sole function is to maintain and operate the
lagoon for the benefit and recreation of its members.
