The Beauty of the Belvedere Lagoon

Best Kept Secret in Belvedere

The Belvedere Lagoon is owned and maintained by the BLPOA. Membership in the BLPOA is expected of all homeowners with property fronting on the lagoon.  USE OF THE LAGOON IS RESTRICTED to members of the BLPOA, their tenants and guests, and to members of the Belvedere Sailing Society (BSS) during BSS member activities. The lagoon covers approximately 66 acres, at an average depth of 4-6 feet, and is surrounded by 261 lots comprised of 232 private residences, 28 duplexes and the BLPOA boatyard. There is no public access to the lagoon, and there is no boat access between the lagoon and the bay.

Lagoon Fun & Permitted Watercraft

Approved uses of the lagoon include swimming, manually-powered craft (such as canoes, paddleboats, rowboats) and sailboats (mono-hulls up to a maximum of 15 feet in length). Most multi-hulled sailboats and power driven craft of any type ARE NOT permitted on the lagoon. Please click this link to see what types of watercraft are and are NOT permitted.

Members of the BLPOA are encouraged to join the BSS, which sponsors organized sailboat races on the lagoon for Laser and Lido 14 sailboats, as well as social events for BSS members. (See Belvedere Sailing Society tab). BSS and BLPOA members also have use of the BLPOA's small boat dry storage facility (for an additional fee, on a space available basis) at 50 Lagoon Road. Please email bssportcaptain@gmail.com if you are interested in a boat storage space.

BSS membership is open to all residents of Belvedere. For more information about joining the BSS, please submit this application or email belvederesailingsociety@gmail.com with questions.

Helping preserve the Lagoon

The BLPOA is a private non-profit corporation, not a homeowner's association, whose sole function is to maintain and operate the lagoon for the benefit and recreation of its members.
